It's not fair.
I went to the dermatologist. I followed all his instructions. I got the new medications. I've given up my long hot showers. I use the humidifier day and night. I moisturize all the time. I was finally starting to win. It was wonderful.
I woke up the other morning with a few funny little bumps on my right leg near my knee. They kinda looked like zits: slightly raised and redish. I took special care to make sure I didn't scratch them, put extra medication on them. They didn't go away though. I woke up today and they're all over my lower leg. And they hurt.
I called my mom to tell her about it, being a nurse and all. She said it sounds like it's impetigo. I had that when I was about 3, and it involves ripping the bumps off once they scab over and applying hydrogen peroxide to them. It hurts like hell. I screamed so loud the neighbors heard me. I still have a few of the scars it left. My mom said she'd bring over some hydrogen peroxide and take a look at my leg.
With the added stress of school and now this, my face has started to break out again, despite the constant moisturizing.
Why can't I just get better?
