It's impossible to do homework in my room. It just is. My powers of thought just don't exist here. The only work I can ever do in here is my Japanese because I need my computer to learn the core conversations.

Instead of working on stuff for class today, I drew a picture for Ellen. Not that she's not worth it, mind you, but it doesn't get me A's in class, hehe.

Somebody shoot me...my brain is fried anyway.

This is kinda off the topic, but yer the resident Japanese expert (or Jap for short?). I want some Chinese or Japanese or whatever other Asian languages there are with interesting script decals to put on my car. I'd prefer them to be meaningful words or phrases. Any idea where I could procure such a thing?

Soo desu ka...
I see. Well, what you're looking for is something in Kanji. Those are the so called scripty characters you'll find in both Chinese and Japanese (The Japanese adopted the system from the Chinese centuries ago, so many of them are the same or similar, and have both Chinese and Japanese readings). I'd try someplace like Hot Topic to get some, or maybe a place that specializes in window stickers and the like...I'm sure they exist. Perhaps a Chinese/Japanese store if you could find one. I can't promise you'll find anything, though, cuz I've never seen them, but that far from proves they don't exist. If you were to want to look up some characters to create your own, though, you could ask me and my Kanji dictionary for some help, or you could go here and look at the characters given for your word choice. Bleh, I don't even know if that was any kind of help. Sorry.

Thanks a lot...it's certainly a great place to start...'specially when I had no idea.

Re: Soo desu ka...
Ehh, I wouldn't say he's necessarily looking for Kanji.

Well, on second thought, he probably is. Although most people (I never used to be able to) can't tell the difference between kanji, katakana, and hiragana (or korean for that matter). Idano. It's been too long since I took japanese... I was trying to write names in katakana last night just to see if I still could.

If the decal store or whatever wants camera-ready art, I'd suggest using MS Word with the Japanese IME... it beats hunting through the MS Mincho font for just the right glyph. =P

Re: Soo desu ka...
True, but he's LIKELY looking for Kanji. I write things for people in hiragana and katakana and they look disappointed sometimes, and say "Isn't there like, one character for it?" I don't understand how people can't tell the difference between Japanese and Korean...they're so different looking! Oh well, go figure.
