I go home that day with a few things in tow, including the DVD. I ask my sister if she's ever seen it, to which she replies no. In fact, she has never seen ANY of the Kevin Smith movies in their entirety. I tell her he's the same man who writes her Green Arrow comics, and now I KNOW she'll want to watch it. She started the film before I left, and seemed to have been enjoying it (She told me to shhhh so she could watch...that's a good sign from her).
So, online today, I ask Kathleen if she's finished the movie. She said, and I quote:
No, mom went totally ballistic on me. If I get caught watching it she'll ground me for a month AND smash both the DVD player and the DVD.
I think that's hilarious, because both of those things belong to ME, and if she destroys them, I expect to be paid for my losses. Kathleen has plans to now watch it late at night when my mom isn't around. Granted, she shouldn't have played it if I my mom was gonna be in the room, but still. I'm glad my sister has the sense to know a good movie when she sees one, though, unlike my mother.
I'd just like to state for the record how nice it is NOT to live with my mother. Visiting is good, but freedom from the Religious Censor is worth living here.
