if things keep going the way they're going, The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle might be my new Illuminatus Trilogy.

the one thing i've found in my experience with Japanese authors (which is not sparse, considering my education) is that the ending is often abrupt, sometimes to good effect, sometimes not. i am hoping for something...fulfilling.

if you've read it, please don't tell me anything. i'm still deep within the process.

Murakami is one of the few authors whose entire catalogue I MUST have.

I'd heard good things about Murakami, I'll have to check him out.

I am also still reading it, so I won't say anything... except that I think of Haruki Murakami's writing as metaphysical comfort food or something... I enjoy reading his books immensely. Are there any other Japanese authors (translated to english) that you enjoy reading?
