when i wanted to work on inks the other day, i'd brought my collage tools to work at the casino.

today, i want to do collage, and all i brought to the mall was my ink stuff.

i gotta cut that shit out, man.

unrelated, i'm thinking about maybe actually getting my ears pierced. but then again, maybe not. what do you, the viewer at home, have to say?

Pierced as in ... for the first time? Or second holes or cartilage?
Mellenabsentmammoth on March 1st, 2006 11:54 pm (UTC)
like a virgin! for the very first time!
lady_mclady_mc on March 2nd, 2006 12:01 am (UTC)
LoL ... then go for it! The first time doesn't hurt, as long as it's with someone you love and trust ... that's what they said on the Tyra Banks show yesterday ... oh wait, different topic. (The things you watch when you're home sick ... sigh)

Still, I can't think of any reason not to ... :)

Well it depends, what's your reasoning behind it? I mean I think you look great without and they wouldn't necessarily add anything, but they wouldn't detract either so if you wanted to do it just cause then go for it.
Alex Staherskiintheblacklodge on March 2nd, 2006 12:01 am (UTC)
If that made any sense.
Mellenabsentmammoth on March 2nd, 2006 12:34 am (UTC)
well, i've thought about it because i really like the style of earrings they have now that are long and dangly on both sides of your ears, and because it might be nice to be able to dress them up a little. on the other hand, i really like having whole lobes, they make me different.
Alex Staherskiintheblacklodge on March 2nd, 2006 02:15 pm (UTC)
Being different is cool yo!
Mellenabsentmammoth on March 2nd, 2006 01:40 am (UTC)
also, on more than one occasion, i've recieved earrings as a present, because everyone assumes girls have pierced ears. i always end up re-gifting them, even pairs i like.
Alex Staherskiintheblacklodge on March 2nd, 2006 02:17 pm (UTC)
Well if you really want to wear them, then I guess you have to do it. I have to admit that my personal biggest problem with piercings is that I feel like they get in the way like in sexual contexts. Like it's a lot easier to nibble on someones ear if they don't have a big ass earring, you know?
Mellenabsentmammoth on March 2nd, 2006 04:25 pm (UTC)
i shit you not, earlobe nibbling is one of the reasons i've not peirced my ears. but i figure if i get it done while i'm single/in a foreign country, i can take them in and out by the time there's someone ready to nibble on them.
Alex Staherskiintheblacklodge on March 2nd, 2006 04:47 pm (UTC)
Good point. And at least they're not as bad as nipple rings. I've never had to deal with those, but I don't know what I'd do.

As a proud owner of 5 ear mutilations I wholeheartedly support you :)

However, don't let anyone tell you that it doesn't hurt because it does! (Of course it does! Someone sticking a bloody great bit of metal through your ear :P)

Sleeping is irritating if you sleep on your side. But you just need to sleep so that your ear itself doesn't touch the pillow - it kind of pokes off the edge while your head above it bears your weight.

... I love my dangly earrings. They make life the little bit sweeter (and more jangly ^^)

haha, do it! mine are pierced and I only wear earrings on special occasions, and it's definitely a fun way to dress up.

on the topic of this non-piercing making you unique, I never noticed that your ears weren't pierced. I think your talents make you more unique than your ears (I AM IN LOVE WITH YOUR MAMMOTH HARLEQUIN). Call me crazy. That's just me. ;)

Miss you. Mark April 28th on calendar, k? love.

Oooo go ahead! It doesn't hurt at all getting it done, but they'll be a little sore for a couple days (but not bad enough where you'd need Tylenol or something). They're totally worth it, though. And it's better to get them done sooner than later because the studs have to stay in for a couple weeks (month?) so if you wanted to wear fancy dangly earrings to something special you'd have to factor in that healing time. But yeah, it's really easy, really non-painful, and definitely worth it! I LOVE having mine done and I've only had them like this for 3 years- I kind of wish I had done them sooner!

ear piercing
I've had both ears pierced 4 times, and I love it. You should totally pierce your ears. :)
