"Inky says being absent is the new being present."

accidentally* reading the newest Chuck Palaniuk book, this line got my attention for its absent/present paradox, and also because the character's name was "Inky". seems oddly appropriate to me, though the book is just...well, another Chuck Palaniuk book.

*a nice girl i work with was reading it, and i got into a discussion with her about the author since i'd read most of his other works. she said she didn't really care for this one, and i see why, but when she finished it, she gave it to me and asked me to tell her what i thought. so here i am reading it, though mostly at work.
Mood: inky says...

Haven't the faintest on who that is, but it's nice to be able to read at work.

Palaniuk wrote Fight Club, among other things.

Until I'm actually doing real work in my field (like if I get the position teaching English in Japan this year), I choose my work based on my ability to do other things I enjoy while I'm there. I can read and draw in my current position and still pay the bills, so I plan to stay there til I leave the country.

Ah, I liked that movie.
As did most all of the western world, but I don't care much about their opinions.

*so very amused*
