set up the printer only to find it doesn't come with the one crucial piece of USB needed to get it working with the good ol' compy here. what kind of a (chinese expletive) trick is that? also, online japanese dictionaries are way easier to use than the chinese ones. (more chinese expletives). nihongo yori chyugokugo wa yasashi n deshyou ne. my japanese is lousy these days anyway. ha ha ha and blah blah blah.

but really, thanks to brandon going into the mall job for me, i've had a great day of relaxation, cleaning, and alone time*. bless you, boy, bless you.

also, dave is awesome for getting not just one but TWO jobs in a single afternoon. bless you too, boy.

now, to perhaps change those icons after all...

*some firefly with commentary as well, as one may have guessed from the above need for chinese expletives.

practically medieval

it amkes no sense, actually. if they incleded the usb cord they could charge you for it, but this way they send you to someones else's product.

i guess it's chaeper for thbe printer companies though. they maky all their money selling ink for more per ounce than high end cognac.

but it comes with both black and color ink!

true, but how long does it last for? i'm guessing there's only enough for a few months of regular use?

well, the primary device i wanted it for was the scanner, the printing we do will likely be mostly black text anyway. the cartridges do seem smaller than in the "old days" though...

One of the reasons I could think for them to not include the USB cable is maybe because they figure you already have one. Hence lowering the cost of the printer, and making it more affordable to the consumer.

but the thing is, this isn't a low-end printer. it's a pretty high quality scanner/copier/printer. it comes with both a black and a color ink cartridge. it comes with all the other cables and things to hook it up to your digital camera. but the usb to the computer is the ONLY thing it doesn't come with.
