i spent the last week visiting with Ryoko Goto, my japanese exchange student from senior year of high school. she's doing a year of university in the states, and visited us on fall break. kind of strange, but a chance to use my japanese, which has fallen into some disrepair. a visit to Kobayashi sensei was STILL nerve-wracking. that's just the way it is with her. it was nice to see Ryoko, though i don't think she and i are anything alike anymore. saw people i was close to when she was here five years ago. also interesting. time travel is strange, as well as lonely.
i was supposed to also take the GRE on wed. it was scheduled before i knew Ryoko was going to come visit. i studied somewhat, and was really starting to cram on tues. when the automated message system the testing center has called both my phones at the same time to tell me that the test center would be closed the next day and that i had to reschedule my test. which was good, because i'd wanted to reschedule anyway but didn't want to pay the $40 it cost to do so. i got to do it for free. it was a special treat, i suppose.
no words for how awesome the mount eerie/thanksgiving/larkin grimm show was. brought a little back for brandon since he couldn't make it.
been working on a few pieces, but time's been scarce. now that i'm back at work, believe it or not, it looks like i'll be getting a little more done. i guess i should take that as a good sign for now.
working on a new cd mix right now. it's been a while since i had the chance to really try my hand at it. tis fun.
and all of you, don't forget to pick ten of brandon's poems! this shit's IMPORTANT.
seeing Devendra Banhart and hairy fairy with bunny brains this weekend at the Sommerville theater. attend if you can!
scanner gets set up THIS WEEKEND. NO TWO WAYS ABOUT IT (weekend = wed/thus for me)
