"Baby, you can drive my car..."

As summer continues on it's merry way, I know that sooner or later, I will have to get my driver's liscense. I see why I need one, now that I'll be in Connecticut for some time. In this state, you can hardly get anywhere without a car.

There are a number of reasons that I haven't been all about getting my liscence. I had always somehow assumed I'd be going to school in Boston, where I wouldn't need a car. Guess not. I also don't like the idea of being responsible for driving around one of the most dangerous pieces of equipment of the age. More people die in car accidents than any other kind, and assuming it couldn't be me is just naive. Especially considering I don't think I'm a very good driver. I don't want to put myself, or anyone else, at risk because I'm a bad driver. Third, it allows so much more freedom with my money when I don't have to pay insurance, gas, and car repair prices. I also don't have a car I can constantly access. It just hasn't seemed worth it to me yet, and so, I haven't gotten my liscense

Now, however, there are begining to be more reasons to drive. Getting to work everyday is a struggle to find transportation. My boyfriend is understandably sick of driving all over creation to either get me or bring me home. So are my friends. I can't get anywhere by myself. It seems I need to drive.

May whatever god you believe in have mercy on your souls when I hit the road...
