Bibble said it better, but here's my two cents though anyway...
I love Xiu Xiu.

I luv the valley OH! too. I stand by my claim it's as of yet the best song of the 21st century.

I agree with Brandon once again, in that we definately need a harmonium. And a zither. And more Xiu Xiu.

I wonder if Jamie Stewart and his adorable girlfriend will come over to my house and have sex with me. That would be cool. I wanted to go and ask them, but I was too shy.
Mood: OH!

Here's an interesting question, how do you actually pronounce their name?

it's chinese. so sort of like "shoo shoo" combined with "sh-ow sh-ow" (that's "ow" like i got hurt rather than "the word "show" like "shoh". so maybe it would look phonetically somehting like: "zeu zeu".

i asked a chinese girl about this once, she had seen the movie xiu xiu but hadn't heard of the band. She sat there making that sound at me for a while but I wasnt able to easily reproduce it. its like making a "sh" sound with your tongue in the "t" position while softly humming. seriously.

yeah. chinese rocks.

Xiu Xiu also rocks because they use pin-yin instead of wade-giles.

In my experience, it's similar to a combo of the "sh" and the hard "z" sound that sounds like a "d". People often say that's kinda like a "j", and I guess they're probably right. You sound kinda like a bee when you say it...it buzzes.
