It makes me want to cut off my ears...  
Jim Carey declared after having done a (really rather good) cover of "I am the Walrus" for a celebrity recording that he'd "done it. I've destroyed a timeless piece of art!"

Well, he didn't. However, the company that created the disgustingly bad elevator music the mall plays and included a "instrumental" (instrumental in my demise, perhaps) version of "A Day in the Life" most certainly did.
Mood: Disheartened
Music: Certainly not what I'd call "A Day in the Life"

Hee. I have that recording of Carrey somewhere, complete with declaration. It's on a George Martin tribute album. I should dig it up...

Yeah, but In My Life was assembled by George Martin. I thought he had better taste than some of those tracks. The Carrey one is without a doubt the jewel of the album.

Then again, I am VERY VERY picky about Beatles covers.
