Anyway, the first musical gift I recieved was a total surprise. Not only did the aforementioned Bibble get me a Flaming Lips single from Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots, but he got me the newest vinyl picture disc. Pretty to listen to, pretty to look at. Not to mention my great love of vinyl. I can't remember the last time I played something on my record player that was brand new. Good times, definately.
Yesterday, which you all know was Hail to the Thief day, Brandon also went and picked up my limited edition packaging copy of said CD. Very sweet. Once I get that map out of the booklet, it's SO going on my wall. It makes me a very happy bunny.
On an unrelated note, I watched When Harry Met Sally with my girly friends last night, and after that, felt the need to watch Before Sunrise again. I'll probably make them watch it sometime as well, hehe. One of the most pure and endearing romantic films ever. If I had any musical abilities whatsoever, I would write a song called "Listening Booth" for that moment in the movie--it's adorable, best of it's kind captured on film. If you haven't seen it, I recommend it highly, especially if you like Linklater's work (if you've seen Waking Life, you'll recognize the main characters pretty much instantly).
Good musics, good movies, good times. I just hope this god damn cold goes away sooner rather than later...
