Sometimes, I'll admit, I have no idea what to think.
And that leaves me free to figure it out without boxing myself in.
I do think, however, that being up this late probably lessens any possibility that I'll wake up bright and early tomorrow. Oh well.
My film class screening tonight was 'Auch Zwerge Haben Klein Angefangen', actually translating loosely to "Even Dwarves Started Small". The professor said most of his students hate this film, so naturally, I was anxious to see it.
Imagine "Fight Club" with midgets, chickens, crucified monkeys, and one very confused camel. And lots and lots of almost insane laughter. You wouldn't even be close to the amount of chaos this movie instills, but that's the best way I can put it. Revolution gone amuck. Chaos distilled and overflowing. Yet, to Brandon and I (I took him to class with me, it was super fun!) it was pretty clear what the intent was. I don't think the rest of my class was so lucky.
"Yeah, I came in 20 minutes late. Please tell me there's some important plot point I missed" one student pleaded more than asked.
"No, that was pretty much it," was the reply.
I clapped at the end of the film. My professor said, "Well, that's the only time I've ever heard this film get applause when I've shown it."
If you're looking for something to throw a monkey wrench in the logic of film, and some good crazy laughs, you might want to check it out. Knowing the people who read this journal, I really don't think you'll regret it.
