First of all, thank you all for your kindness and your prayers. I'm grateful to every single one of you.

Second, I'd like to think that it is helping. I called home last night and they said my dad's kidneys are doing a lot better and functioning. The doctors are talking about maybe putting in some tubing to help the parts that are swollen, but if his kidneys keep getting better they may not have to do that. Both my mom and my sister said he's comfortable and doing a lot better. He's still in the hospital obviously, bu ounds like they expect him to get through without too many complications.

Thanks again to everyone thinking about/praying for my dad. i know lots of my friends are going through tough times, but i hope the kindness you've all shown my family comes back to help you out.

Kath's on her way back up to school, but she told me that your dad is doing okay, and that they're not going to have to put the tubes in his kidneys. He's a lot less swelled up; his knuckles are showing again rather than being too swollen to. So that's good. :0)

I'm keeping an ear out, and an eye on Kath a bit too, as she's been kinda stressed about all this. Hope you're doing okay over there, too.

Thank you for the good news!! It's nice to hear they won't have to put the tubes in, I was still worried about that going wrong.

And thanks for keeping an eye on Kath. I've been stressed, but I'm dealing alright since I've got friends here that know exactly how it feels to be far away from family when they're ill and they're helping me cope.

Again, thanks so much for keeping me updated, it means a lot to me.

No problem. I know how hard it can be to deal with stuff like this, and it always helps when everyone pitches in to keep the information loop constant.

I'm glad you're coping okay. Don't worry too much about Kath - we're watching out for her. Just take care of yourself. :0)

Dads doing better.
He is doing even better. He doesnt need the tubes in his kidneys and is taking less pain meds. he is still in the hospital but looking more like himself, less puffy. He is going to be in hospital until he gets his guts working again.
Love Kath

Hi Mellen

I'm so sorry. It sounds like things are going alright for now. I hope he pulls through. And don't worry-- he knows you love him very much. Hugs and kisses.
