I needed the Universe Next Door...
I love it when a book finds you at just the right time.

Right now, I'm finally reading the Schrodinger's Cat Trilogy, and it's making me inordinately happy. With any luck, I'll get through it in time to give it back to Alex when we visit in a couple weeks.

Back to reading...

I think I liked that one better than Illuminatus!.

I think I may very well say the same thing at the end of the day.

Then again, I'm reading them years apart in very differnt frames of mind.

they are, too, very different beasts. sc is, i think, clearer and cleaner. whatever that means. less dense in some way, or less needlessly confusing and obtuse, if you feel that way about it. the first one is more joycean and the second is more...doug adams.

Yeah, I agree. Very good way of putting it. I definitely like Illuminatus better just because as we've discussed before, somethign about it's writing style starts your brain changing right then and there. Of course, I could just be seeing them differently because Illuminatus made a very dramatic impact on my life, but when I read Schroedinger I was already on the path.
